Products & Services
EVE offers an array of products and services to meet your soil amendment or soil products needs.

Here's What EVE Offers:
Soil Testing
EVE offers both chemical soil testing and biological soil testing services. Chemical soil tests analyze soil samples to determine "plant-available" nutrient levels (P, K. Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu), pH (acidity/alkalinity), and organic matter content. Biological soil testing measures the "living" component of your soil—the microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, and nematodes that drive nutrient cycling and plant health. Unlike standard chemical tests that only measure total nutrient levels, biological tests reveal how much of those nutrients are actually available to plants through microbial activity. EVE can make recommendations for soil amendment based upon the test results for your soil and planting or growing objectives.
Aerobic Humus Cost
EVE offers lab tested fully decomposed aerobic humus compost as a soil amendment for existing soil, or as a growing medium for raised garden beds or potted plants. Aerobic humus compost improves your soil health over time. It is proven to grow bigger plants, retain greater moisture in the soil, and produce larger and more abundant fruit than standard chemical fertilizers. Our aerobic humus compost is all natural, and is favored by organic gardeners.
Organic Wood Compost
EVE has a large inventory of partially decomposed wood sawdust that can be used to amend soil. Our organic wood compost adds organic matter to any soil, which helps stabilize and improve the soil health. While not the same effectiveness as aerobic humus compost, organic wood compost provides a lower cost alternative to aerobic humus compost.
Compost Liquid Extract
Liquid compost extract is a nutrient-rich, microbe-dense liquid produced by agitating or soaking finished, high-quality compost in water to dislodge beneficial organisms and soluble nutrients without brewing or added feeding. Unlike aerated compost tea, it is a non-fermented. Liquid compost extract contains bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and soluble nutrients, aiming to transfer the full, existing diversity of the compost into the water. It is best used as a soil drench, in fertigation, or for seed soaking to inoculate the soil with microorganisms. Liquid compost extract promotes soil health, provides nutrients to the plants, and improves plant resilience. EVE has the ability to supply small amounts or bulk quantities of liquid compost extract derived from our aerobic humus compost.
Amended Topsoil
EVE takes our aerobic humus compost and adds it to regular soil for our amended topsoil product. A ratio of 20-30% compost to 70-80% subsoil is used to create our amended topsoil. The goal is to create soil with an estimated 5% organic matter (OM), when measured on a dry weight basis. The product is mixed completely, then screened to remove oversized particles and large clumps of soil. The end result is amended topsoil that spreads easily, retains greater plant usable moisture levels than regular clay soil, and that improves the overall health of the soil and the plants or grasses.
Fill Dirt
EVE offers clean (no construction debris or concrete), unscreened fill dirt for construction projects. This product is typically suitable for void fill and compaction areas for construction projects. Fill dirt is not suitable for lawns or gardens.
Wood Chips
EVE partners with the K&K Dirtworks, Tree Division, to provide an outlet for limb and tree wood chips. Raw wood chips are available for pick up or delivery from our Evanston location.
Custom Blended Soil
EVE can take any soil and amend it to meet your specific requirements. We will amend your existing soil on site, or deliver to you custom blended soil from our Evanston, Indiana facility. Combined with our testing services, we can specifically identify the exact compost or compost extract amendment that will work best to bring your soil to the levels required to support your growing and planting objectives. EVE is equipped to meet the Topsoil Amendment Standards for all INDOT related highway projects.
